Due to the nature of this job, one can not help but wonder how much a person can earn by becoming a successful medical transcriptionist. A survey was conducted in the year 2007 showing that on average, a medical transcriptionist would earn in the region of $32,000 to $40,000 a year. Seeing as this survey was based in the year 2007, one can expect to increase this up to 10% due to inflation for the year 2010. It is important to remember that these figures are rough estimates based on qualitative analysis and can vary depending on a number of factors.

Some of the factors that would need to be considered in regards to how much one earns will include where the qualification of becoming a medical transcription was obtained from and the content of that particular course. Even though it may not sound as a big deal, but choosing the right institution is known to play a very important role. Other factors that have also been proven to play an important role include the amount of professional experience that you have in this particular field. Which state you decide to work in as well is know to play an important role.

It is only logical to think that where the demand is high for a medical transcriptionist, the expected pay in that region would also be high. All of these factors contributed together will have a major influence on the amount of money you earn on a yearly basis. It would be a good idea to look for a few job adverts online and in the paper for a medical transcriptionist to give you an idea of the current market value of earnings that you could expect.
